Today was a banner day on our journey to be full time missionaries in Bolivia.  Our Missionary Partnership Team (MPT) met for the first time as a group for our MPT training.  Ruthie Stevenson, the MPT coordinator from International Ministries came down to West Virginia and spent the day with us as we learned what it means to be a mission partnership team.  Let me introduce you to our team (from the left of the pic).

Our convener is Jack Eades, first one in the back row.  Jack is a retired area minister with the West Virginia Baptist Convention.  He spends his time now working with churches in the area of peacemaking.

The person responsible for praying for and supporting our kids is next and she's seated down front.  Janelle Skinner is the Pastor of Children and Family Life at the South Parkersburg Baptist Church.  She has been our kid’s pastor for almost 9 years.

Next on the back row is Mark Stump.  Mark has been the senior pastor of the Gassaway Baptist Church for over 27 years.  Mark is a team specialist.  His years of leadership in the area of church development, church planting, and leadership training, will be invaluable to the team.

Next is me J.D. in the front row.

Beside Mark in the back row is Bill Morlan.  Bill is the youth pastor of the Gassaway Baptist Church and has occupied that role for over 20 years.  Bill will be our pastoral care provider on the team.

Bill is followed by Rhonda, my lovely wife seated next to me in the front row.

After Rhonda, is Mickey Skeens wearing the striped shirt in the back row.  He will serve on the team as our financial advocate.  Mickey will be working with us to help ensure that we get on the field as soon as possible and stay for as long as God wants us to.

Next to Mickey is Rob Ely.  Rob is the director discipleship ministries, camping and youth for the West Virginia Baptist Convention.  Rob will be our Mission Involvement Energizer and will encourage people to be a part of our support and network.

Down front on the far right is Michele Vanmatre.  Michele is going to serve as our Prayer and Communications Coordinator.  Michele an active homeschool mom and is a member of South Parkersburg Baptist Church.  She will be helping us to get the word out about what God is doing in Bolivia.

One person who isn’t in the picture is Ed Rogers.  Ed is the lead pastor of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church.  His role will mirror Mark Stump’s role, as he is a team specialist.  His leadership training, church planting and satellite campus experience will be a big help to the team.  Ed is the leader of the pastoral staff our family has been a part of for almost 9 years.

This is our team.  They are our friends.  They bring a lot of great gifts to the table, but more importantly they bring themselves.  They have said yes to support us…will you?
