It has been a while since my last journal. 2013 was a great year of challenges and opportunities. Many teams from US and PR visited us on mission trips. Medical Clinics where done in many communities, families were bleessed with food, water filters, school supplies and uniforms were distributed thru Aprendamos Proyect and White Cross, pregnant woman received baby layettes at hospitals and communities visited, orphans received clothes, shoes, hygiene kits, school supplies, sick people received medicine, vitamins, medical attention, our partners were supported with visits of teams, schools received Step funds, and msny other blessings. I thank God for the many volunteers that visited us and gave to missions some of their time. Mission teams are a blessing and can make a big difference in communities.

FBC Greensburg, IN blessed us with one week of Medical and Dental clinics in 5 different communities. Hundred of people were attended and served with medicine, dental hygiene, etc.

Emmanuel Baptist Church from Parkersburg WV, Pastor Kurt Busiek and a team from his church built a playground area for the children of Batey San Jose.

Manchester Community Church, CT returned to IB El Buen Pastor after many years of absence and worked with the church and community with VBS, English Classes, Painting the church, visiting families, etc.

Iglesia Bautista Quebrada from Gurabo, Puerto Rico, their Pastor Felipe Candelaria and their Alpha Brigade Team worked a VBS in different communities.

Youth Ministry of FBC St. Albans in WV and their Youth Pastor Jeremy Myers painted the playground built at the Batey and played VBS and Sketches on different scenarios and communit ies.

The Tilford family, Cindy, and Jim Steelman from Columbia Baptist Church in Cincinnati, OH built a basketball/Volleyball court for the children of Colegio Bauitsta Peravia, Bani.

A small group of junior high school students from Fountain Bilingual School and their Athletic Coach Javier Baez and Rev. Myrna Ramos visited us to develop relationship with different schools and orphanage.

American Baptist Woman Ministry from District III of Puerto Rico visited us in December. Worked a VBS program for schools explaining the Reason of the Season (Jesus was born). Great job done by these ladies.

As you can see a variety of ministries visited us in 2013.  Many needs were covered and others still pending. The Educational Program "Aprendamos" ran in the Summer from June 27 thru August 15, 2013 with 39 students taking tutoring classes on their most weak areas of learning. Program ran from Monday thru Friday from 8:30am to 12:00. A personnel of 8 people worked on the project and the children were the most benefited with knowledge, support, uniforms, school supplies and lots of fun during all Summer.

Many things can be done, but we need your help, commitment and support. Dominican Republic has many opportunities for Missions Team. Come and be part of one!
