How time has flown! I assume my new responsibilities with International Ministries as Area Director for Southeast Asia and Japan on July 1!

It seems it was just yesterday that David and I returned from Japan and we began this new journey.  As you know, for the past year, with your help, Stan Murray, former Area Director, Lisa Simmons from West Virgninia, Paul and Gail Aita from Washington State and Angela Sudermann, Volunteer Coordinator for International Ministries and I have been able to travel to Japan, Singapore, India, Burma, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand to meet our international partners and learn about their ministries. I have also been able to get to know our International Ministries missionaries and their ministries on our journeys as well, and you need to know their work and mission are highly respected wherever they serve. It will be an honor for me to work with them.

Recently, our family has been in the process of selling our current home in Hurricane, WV and purchasing a home near the Valley Forge American Baptist and International Ministries headquarters.  I have also been working on completing classes for my Fuller Seminary studies as well as working with the Teays Valley Association (TVA) in West Virginia for ordination.  It has been a full and busy time.

As you have been part of my support over the past year as David, Joanna and I have made this transition, I truly want to say, THANK YOU!! Your prayers, kind words, love and support have made this a time of growing into this new work.  WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED. As I formally will begin on July 1, I want to request that you continue to pray for our family in this new venture.  We will be in great need for your prayers as we move and adapt.

Also, I would like to let you know that if you or your church have been supporting me financially, that need will be completed as of July 1.  Please prayerfully consider moving your support to other International Ministries missionaries.  Our missionaries are doing great work around the world for the Kingdom of God and your support is greatly needed! Check the IM website at  or call at 1-800-ABC-3-USA for information.

THANK YOU again for all you have done in love and support.  As David and I often have said as we have shared the ministry in Japan,  we are thankful for your partnership in sharing the Gospel. We have always felt the strong “co-mission” with you.

In Ecclesiastes 4:12 it says,  “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Evidence of this is that with your love and help, and with the leading of the Holy Spirit, I have seen God move and respond.

You can always reach me at

I look forward to our continued partnership in sharing the Gospel
